Who We Are

Fafi Integrated Development Association (FaIDA) is a not for profit, nonpartisan and nonsectarian nongovernmental organization registered in Kenya under the applicable Laws. FaIDA Kenya has been working in Garissa County since 2009.

Our Mission is to increase access to and the capacity for sustained use of basic services in Water, Environment, Sanitation, Education and Health in Kenya and beyond.
FaIDA envisions a society in Kenya and the region, which reflects the care for the vulnerable, and where peace, dignity, harmony, equity and social & economic justice prevail.

Founded as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2009, FaIDA worked with established youth groups and women groups in Jarajilla division of Fafi district in empowering the community on development issues, environmental protection and climate change mitigation. In 2010, FaIDA was upgraded to a nongovernmental organization and duly registered as an international organization. Over the years, FaIDA’s has seen rapid growth and expansion and has become a reputable organization and implementing partner of several international organizations including UNHCR.

Our History

Since 2009, has been implementing natural resources management around refugee camps in Dadaab with funding from UNHCR. The project involves restoration of degraded areas in refugee camps, environmental education and livelihood support to host community adversely affected by the refugee presence. This is intended to address challenges posed by hosting refugees and foster peaceful coexistence between the refugees and the hosting communities. Read More…
